This song came to me after a hurried morning with the kids. We had overslept, everything was running behind, and we were getting pretty grumpy at one another by the time they headed off to school. As I closed the front door, I was grumbling to myself, "what a day...". As I headed upstairs for a shower, I had a moment of lucidity in which I realized how lucky I was, how much I enjoy my family, and what a host of opportunities lay in front of me as I started the day. Good thing, otherwise this would have been a really grumpy song...

I recorded a version of this song with producer Justin Gray (Joss Stone, Emma Bunton, Ryan Malcolm, etc.) in spring of 2007, with great results. When the album sessions started up on November 2007, Darren and I re-visited the song, and decided to record it again from scratch, with a faster tempo and with the same players from the rest of the album. The result - two great versions of the same song. I decided to put both on the album, and let listeners decide which they like better...
