"Ten Years On" was written after the death of a friend I had all through high school. She died only weeks after I left home
to start university, so I missed her funeral and visited her grave alone a few weeks later. The song grew out of my imagining
the life she should have had, and how there would be no way for her to catch up with the changing lives of her friends as they
all grew older. The lyrics ended up being more universal, applying to anyone who reflects on a loved one lost in the past. I
hope this is one that will mean something a bit different to everyone who hears it.
